Report: Bills' LeSean McCoy expected to return for Week 1 vs. Colts

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy was forced to leave practice Tuesday after suffering a hamstring injury, but it doesn't appear that his absence will extend into the upcoming regular season.

The star playmaker, acquired by the Bills in a blockbuster offseason trade, is expected to return in time for the team's Week 1 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

While it's unclear whether the three-time Pro Bowler will be able to return in time for one of Buffalo's final preseason games, it would be no surprise to see him held out until Week 1 regardless.

The Bills offense can be expected to lean heavily on McCoy throughout the year, as continued concerns at the quarterback position should have the team implement a run-heavy attack.

McCoy became the fifth Bills running back to suffer a preseason injury when he limped to the locker room Tuesday, making it possible that the team could turn to the free-agent market in search of additional depth and competition.

Reports surfaced Wednesday claiming the Bills have held internal discussions about the possibility of signing former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice.
