Report: Titans' Justin Hunter has felony charge reduced to misdemeanor
Jim Brown / USA TODAY Sports
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter had his felony charge for a July incident in which he allegedly sucker-punched a bar patron reduced to a misdemeanor, Adam Vingan of The Tennessean reports.
Hunter was originally facing a felony charge of malicious wounding. He's now facing a lesser charge of assault and battery. The reduced charge is a potentially huge development for the Titans.
Hunter is due in court Sept. 1, two days before the Titans' preseason finale.
The third-year wideout will be subject to NFL discipline for the incident, but there is no indication the league plans to issue a suspension before the matter is resolved in court.
