Lions' Matthew Stafford has X-rays on chest, ribs after loss to Vikings
Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford took a lot of hits during the team's 26-16 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and underwent X-rays on both his ribs and his chest after the game to further investigate his injuries.
The results of the X-rays are currently unknown, and Stafford refused to comment on whether his injuries would stop him playing next week against the Denver Broncos.
"Obviously getting hit out here as many times as he got hit, obviously that took a toll on him," coach Jim Caldwell said. "But he hung in there."
Stafford struggled throughout the game with apparent injuries; he received treatment on the sideline for a bloodied thumb, and trainers worked on his chest area, too.
The quarterback was reportedly in some pain in the locker room after the game, with bandages on his left wrist, left forearm, and several toes.
