Panthers' Davis blasts analyst Harrison for recommending Broncos hurt Newton
Former NFL safety Rodney Harrison continues to come under fire for suggesting the Denver Broncos should intentionally injure Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton in the Super Bowl.
"If I see Cam Newton running the ball and he’s a quarterback and I'm on defense, I’m trying to hurt him," Harrison told Tom Rock of Newsday this week. "I'm trying to knock him out of the game."
Panthers cornerback Josh Norman mocked Harrison for his comments, recalling the time Harrison allowed New York Giants wideout David Tyree to make "the helmet catch."
Now Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis is getting in on the action:
Davis is a former Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year winner and one of the most respected players in football.
Harrison, on the other hand, should probably expect to continue being criticized for his questionable take.
