Sharks owner Plattner releases statement supporting Wilson, McLellan
The San Jose Sharks released a statement from owner Hasso Plattner on Wednesday, outlining his feelings on the past season and throwing his full support behind general manager Doug Wilson and head coach Todd McLellan.
According to the statement, Plattner is "very disappointed" with the team's inability to advance after building a 3-0 series advantage over Los Angeles and considered the series loss "a major blow to our organization and fan base." He insists the goal of the team remains winning a Stanley Cup and believes in the changes Wilson wants to make.
