Devils re-sign Marek Zidlicky to 1-year, $4-million contract

The New Jersey Devils announced the re-signing of defenseman Marek Zidlicky on Tuesday.
As per Elliotte Friedman of CBC, the deal is worth $4-million for one season.
The 37-year-old is coming off of a three-year contract with the Devils that saw him earn the same $4-million figure per season.
Zidlicky finished first among the club’s defensemen and fifth on the team in scoring with 42 points last season, registering 12 goals and 30 assists in 81 games.
Since entering the league in 2003-04, he ranks 12th in games played, 15th in goals, tied for ninth in assists, 11th in points and tied for fourth with 53 power play goals among all NHL defensemen, as per the official press release.
