Report: Czech forward Jiri Sekac being pursued by 'more than a dozen' NHL teams
If you didn't know who he was don't feel bad because not many do. Czech Republic born Jiri Sekac is a 22-year-old free agent and is being pursued by at least 12 NHL teams.
Bob McKenzie reported on Friday's edition of Insider Trading that Sekac went undrafted and was cut by the Peterborough Petes of the OHL in 2009. He spent two seasons with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL before returning to Europe and playing in the KHL.
The right winger had 28 points through 47 games played with Prague Lev of the KHL last season.
He has more than a dozen firm offers on a max. entry-level deal for two years. He's expected over the next couple of days to make up his mind. This is a guy that's in great demand. Six-foot-two, 190-pound left winger who many believe is ready to step in NHL ready.
