Coyotes select Brendan Perlini with 12th overall pick

The Arizona Coyotes drafted eighth-ranked prospect left-winger Brendan Perlini with the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NHL entry draft.
Perlini, from Shelby Township, Ontario represented Canada in the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament winning gold. He has plentiful experience with international ice growing up in Europe as his father, Fred Perlini, played professional hockey in Britain.
As a member of the Niagara Ice Dogs of the OHL, Perlini scored 71 points through 58 games played. Perlini's 59-point year-over-year increase represented the largest gain of any player in this year's draft.
His size at the age of 18 is a plus as he fits the NHL bill at 6'3, 205 pounds.
