Free agent Bissonnette: 'I definitely think I have a lot more hockey in me'
As high-end forwards are plucked off the free agent market, role players largely sit back and wait for the phone to ring, eager to sign a deal to keep the calendar turning on their professional hockey careers.
Such is the case with forward Paul Bissonnette, who fully acknowledges his place in the hockey world.
"It'd be fun if you scored 30 goals and worked the power play and were a top-two line guy," Bissonnette told Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic. "Then you're laughing, and you can't wait for free agency. [But] everyone's experience is different."
Bissonnette says he would have liked to remain with the Coyotes, but feels he can hang on any team in the League.
"I definitely think I have a lot more hockey in me."
Bissonnette, who revealed Wednesday on Twitter that he's "talking with some teams," reiterated it's all about patience at this point in the offseason.
"There's a stalemate right now where some are either at the cap, maybe a little bit below it or over it where they want to make moves, but teams are waiting," he said. "I find that one or two trades are going to spark more movement."
Time will tell if there is indeed a place for his services on an NHL roster.
