Report: Claude Loiselle expected to be named head of NHL's Department of Player Safety
After having recently been relieved of his duties as assistant general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Claude Loiselle is expected to be named the head of the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety, a "well-placed source" told Larry Brooks of the New York Post.
Loiselle would take over the job in lieu of the departed Brendan Shanahan, who was involved in the decision to fire Toronto's AGM as part of his new role as Maple Leafs president.
Stephan Quintal assumed disciplinarian duties throughout the course of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The 51-year-old played 13 seasons in the NHL and spent seven years as Associate Director of Hockey Operations for the League, where he was involved in discipline, salary arbitration, and collective bargaining.
