PHOTO: Karri Ramo's new Edgar Allen Poe themed mask is absolutely terrifying
Calgary Flames goaltender Karri Ramo has updated his Edgar Allan Poe-themed goalie mask for this season, and the results are spectacular.
Both sides of Ramo's new lid feature ravens in various states of repose. The left side also features specks of blood.

On the top of the mask is the closing line from Allan's classic poem The Raven: "And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor shall be lifted – nevermore!"

If there's any criticism to be lobbied against this mask, and really such a thing would be nitpicking, it's the lack of Flames-related insignia. The only reference to Ramo's employer on the mask is the subtle flames spouting out from the mouth of the skull that adorns the chin of the lid.

The mask was designed by Jason Livery of Headstrong Grafx, and stands out from some of the many other goalie masks we've seen this offseason simply because it wasn't done by David Gunnarsson of DaveArt ....
