The Washington Capitals had quite the scare when their captain went down at the World Hockey Championships in May and was taken to hospital with a knee injury.
An MRI revealed there was no damage, though Alex Ovechkin admitted to media on Monday afternoon that his knee was not fit for competition. He returned to the tournament in Russia's quarterfinal game against France just four days later.
The Capitals might not be pleased with Ovechkin over that decision.
