Blue Jackets' Horton suffering from lingering back issue, will be limited in training camp

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nathan Horton is suffering from a lingering back issue and will be limited in his physical activities once training camp begins, general manager Jarmo Kekalainen revealed Wednesday.

Horton was severely limited in his first season with the Blue Jackets, missing the start of the 2013-14 regular season due to shoulder surgery, and later sidelined with an abdominal injury.

The good news here is that Horton has fully recovered from both, but the onslaught of a whole new injury is cause for concern as camp begins.

Horton scored five goals and added 14 assists in 36 games last season, and is set to enter the second year of a seven-year, $37.1-million deal with the Blue Jackets.
