Lightning's Bishop won't be limited in training camp after offseason wrist surgery
Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender - and 2014 Vezina Trophy finalist - Ben Bishop says he'll be able to fully participate in the team's training camp once on-ice activities get rolling Friday.
As a result, he's inching closer to being fully healed for the team's opening night matchup versus their inter-state rivals, the Florida Panthers.
"The range of motion, everything is good," Bishop told the Tampa Bay Times. "Strength still needs to get a little stronger, but I'm able to practice with the guys, that's good. By the season starts, hopefully it'll be closer to 100 percent. I don't know if it'll ever be close to 100 percent, but it's getting better everyday. So hopefully in a couple weeks here it'll be ready to go."
Bishop also plans to phase that out a small protective pad inside his blocker as camp progresses.
