Bruins' Pastrnak 'very, very doubtful' for scrimmage after injurying shoulder in practice
Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak is "very, very doubtful" for the Bruins' intrasquad Black and Gold Scrimmage on Sunday after sustaining a shoulder injury in practice, according to Bruins coach Claude Julien.
"I don’t know how serious it’s going to be," Julien told the Boston Globe on Saturday of Pastrnak's "tweaked" shoulder. "He’s very, very, doubtful for [Sunday]. If anything, he’ll be stiff and we wouldn‘t take that chance, but I don’t think it’s too, too serious."
It's a tough break for Pastrnak, who is expected to receive an extended look on Boston's top line with David Krejci and Milan Lucic at training camp. He was even scheduled to play in Jarome Iginla and Nathan Horton's old spot on the right wing of the familiar Krejci, Lucic pair in Sunday's scrimmage.
"It’s nice to be able to play with him because he’s a great player," Krejci had said of Pastrnak before news of his recent injury spread. "He’s got great speed, so hopefully we’ll click."
Pastrnak and Krejci may have an opportunity to "click" yet, although it seems unlikely that they'll get a chance to become familiar on Sunday.
