Hurricanes' Jordan Staal helped off ice with apparent knee injury

The Carolina Hurricanes suffered a preseason scare on Tuesday when Jordan Staal was helped off the ice without being able to put any weight on his right knee.

The injury occurred in a collision with Buffalo Sabres defenseman Josh Gorges.

Staal recorded 40 points last season, and was slated to be Carolina's second-line center behind his brother, Eric Staal.
