Hurricanes' Sekera day-to-day with upper-body injury

There hasn't been much in the way of good news for the Carolina Hurricanes in the early going this season, but they received a spot of good fortune this week when top-pairing defender Andrej Sekera escaped more or less unscathed from a nasty collision with the end boards Tuesday night.
Sekera is apparently "real sore," according to Hurricanes head coach Bill Peters, who considers Sekera lucky:
The reliable defender and pending unrestricted free agent could return as soon as Thursday against the New York Rangers.
