Senators, Maple Leafs, Canadiens pay tribute to fallen soldiers

Three Canadian hockey teams came together with the help of their opponents to pay tribute to fallen soldiers Cpl. Nathan Cirillo and Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent.

The Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens organized a simultaneous ceremony, joining in the singing of "O Canada" together in three different buildings.

It was the first home game for the Senators since the attack in Ottawa four days earlier.

The Senators asked all attending the game to wear red, and handed them mini Canadian flags and glow sticks as they entered Canadian Tire Centre. The Sens and New Jersey Devils gathered around center ice, alternating players from each team.

The Leafs and Boston Bruins staff all wore poppies in Toronto behind the benches, while the entire teams stood on the blue line for the anthems.

The Leafs and Canadiens, who were at home against the New York Rangers, joined simultaneously in the moment of silence at the Canadian Tire Centre before partaking in the Canadian anthem.
