NHL Game Summary - Carolina at Vancouver

Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) - Brad Richardson scored twice while Ryan Miller stopped 29 shots for his 300th win to lead the Vancouver Canucks in a 4-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Linden Vey and Jannik Hansen scored for the Canucks, who have won three of their last four games.

Jiri Tlusty scored the only goal while Cam Ward was tagged for three goals on 24 shots for the Hurricanes, who remained winless through eight games this season.

"We weren't good enough in any area, and the result is a 4-1 loss," Carolina head coach Bill Peters said.

Vancouver scored just 1:32 in as Richardson took a feed from Zack Kassian and fled down the middle, lifting a wrister past Ward for a 1-0 lead.

The score stayed that way until early in the second period when Vey scored on the power play after Radim Vrbata sent a pass from the low left side to the right where Vey was cutting in and wristed it home just 50 seconds in.

"It was just one of those ones that find its way onto your stick," Vey said. "When you got an open net, you gotta bury those."

Late in the second, Yannick Weber kept the puck in at the left point and let fly with a shot that Hansen got a piece of for his third of the year at 18:39.

Tlusty broke up the shutout with a goal down low at 11:05 of the third, but Richardson put the game away with an empty-netter in the final moments.
