VIDEO: Blues' Allen preserves shutout by robbing Ducks' Perry

Jasen Vinlove / USA Today

St. Louis Blues netminder Jake Allen made 24 saves Thursday against the Anaheim Ducks for his second career shutout, which was possible thanks to saves like this against Corey Perry.

With the Ducks pressing midway through the third period, Allen intercepted a centering pass with his stick, knocking it into the slot. Perry pounced on the loose puck and unloaded a quick shot, but Allen recovered to block it with his left pad and glove.

Allen, who still has rookie status after appearing in 15 games last season, has allowed two even-strength goals in three starts.
