Saturday Night Fantasy Wraparound: Hossa rules and go pick up Klingberg

Chris LaFrance / USA TODAY Sports

The Good

F Marian Hossa - Blackhawks

  • Marian Hossa has struggled offensively somewhat this season, but broke out in a big way against the Oilers on Saturday night. The 35-year-old Slovakian winger managed a goal, three assists, two power-play points and finished plus-2, while taking a shot on goal and throwing one hit.

F Vladimir Tarasenko - Blues

  • Did you know that in a Yahoo! Fantasy hockey league that uses G, A, +/-, PPP, SOG, and Hits as category that Vladimir Tarasenko has been the most valuable fantasy player in hockey this season? He was at it again on Saturday, scoring a goal and taking six shots in the St. Louis Blues' 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

F Brock Nelson - Islanders

  • Brock Nelson scored another power-play goal on Saturday to go along with four shots on net, two hits, and a plus-1 rating. He's now tied with Claude Giroux for the NHL lead in power-play goals.

F Wayne Simmonds - Flyers

  • Just another night at the office for Wayne Simmonds, who scored a power-play goal, managed a plus-1 rating, took five shots on goal, threw a hit and racked up a couple of penalty minutes.

G Jhonas Enroth - Sabres

  • The Buffalo Sabres have won games on consecutive Saturday nights, which, well it isn't nothing. Jhonas Enroth led the way for the Sabres in a 2-1 victory over the Washington Capitals, stopping 43-of-44 shots.

F Alex Ovechkin - Capitals

  • Alex Ovechkin didn't score on Saturday night, but eight shots on goal and five hits is still going to play.

D John Klingberg - Stars

  • Klingberg is playing major minutes for the Stars of late, and is on something of a hot streak. On Saturday night he managed a goal, an assist, a power-play point and a plus-1 rating while logging more than six-and-a-half power-play minutes. He might still be available on waivers if you hurry.

F Nathan MacKinnon - Avalanche

  • Nathan MacKinnon managed three assists on Saturday night, while taking four shots on goal and finishing with a plus-2 rating. Seems like he's over his tentative start to the campaign.

F Curtis Glencross - Flames

  • Curtis Glencross has points in seven of his past eight games, but hadn't scored since Nov. 2nd. On Saturday night he found the back of the net twice, took three shots on goal and threw four hits.

The Bad

F Patric Hornqvist - Penguins

  • Patric Hornqvist has been an enormous fantasy steal this season and even on Saturday night he was decent managing an assist and a couple of hits. He didn't take a single shot on goal though, a category that has been central to his dominant fantasy season.

F Gustav Nyquist - Red Wings

  • Red Wings forward Gustav Nyquist had a tough game on Saturday night. The skilled Swedish-born forward managed no points, and while he finished with four shots on goal, was a minus-3 - with two goals coming on the counterattack directly off of his giveaways.

The Ugly

G Ben Scrivens - Oilers

  • Five goals against on 13 shots faced is bad, but that it happened in less than 25 minutes of work makes it worse for fantasy owners. Scrivens' GAA on Saturday came in over 13, which is completely hideous.
