Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Roman Polak returned to Wednesday's game against the Washington Capitals in the second period sporting a swollen jaw after he was hit by a puck early in the contest.
Polak required an untold number of stitches to close the cut around his mouth but is not wearing any extra facial protection, suggesting the damage is largely cosmetic. It doesn't make for a pretty picture though.
