Jaromir Jagr climbed another rung on the ladder of the NHL's all-time greats with two points Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Florida Panthers forward tied Ron Francis for fourth in career points with 1,798 after assisting on Brandon Pirri's goal and scoring his 16th goal of 2014-15. The 43-year-old has 14 points in 16 games since joining the Panthers.
Jagr and Francis were teammates with the Pittsburgh Penguins from 1991-98. Jagr needs another 52 points to tie Gordie Howe for third on the all-time list and 89 to reach Mark Messier's total of 1,887 points. However, he's more than 1,000 points shy of matching Wayne Gretzky's record total of 2,857.
