Kings' Gaborik on Stoll: 'New York will absolutely love him'
He may be considered a depth player, but former teammate of Jarret Stoll, Marian Gaborik, believes New York Rangers fans will love what the veteran forward has to offer.
The Rangers inked the 33-year-old to a one-year contract worth a reported $800,000 Monday and despite his legal troubles and drop in production, the Los Angeles Kings forward feels Stoll still has a lot to give.
"He's a winner and a great competitor. He will help the Rangers in many ways," said Gaborik. "He's a great guy, the team and New York will absolutely love him."
Rangers general manager Jeff Gorton echoed Gaborik's thoughts, adding Stoll's versatility made him an intriguing option.
"He's a guy that can play all three forward positions, he can penalty kill, can win faceoffs, can move up and down the lineup," said Gorton.
