Matt Moulson opens home to Sabres rookie Jack Eichel
Matt Moulson appears set to take Jack Eichel under his wing.
The veteran forward has invited the Buffalo Sabres rookie to live with him and his family this season, Eichel told Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News.
"(Moulson) had just reached out to me after congratulating me in the draft. He offered it and I think it's a good move for me," Eichel said. "He's obviously a really good guy who's been around the league so I'm really excited about it. It's a really good fit for me."
Moulson is married with two children under the age of four, providing a healthy environment wherein Eichel can get acclimated to the pro game.
"I know that everyone who knows him well says great things about him," Eichel said. "I haven't heard a bad thing about the guy. The way he offered his house to me shows what kind of person he is. He's a really generous guy, a good guy to be around."
Moulson, 31, is a veteran of 474 NHL games, with three 30-goal seasons to his credit. On top of driving him to the rink, the winger could very well find himself skating alongside Eichel as training camp begins in a couple of weeks.
