VIDEO: Bruins' Chara leaves game with upper-body injury
Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara left Thursday's preseason game against the New York Rangers with an upper-body injury and the team announced he would not return.
Chara played only three shifts in the first period. He took a hit from Rangers forward Ryan Bourque on his final shift about four minutes into the opening frame.
After the game, head coach Claude Julien said there was no update on Chara's condition.

The 38-year-old defenseman was skating in his first game of the preseason.
The Bruins are already playing without defenseman Dennis Seidenberg, who is expected to miss two months after having surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back.
Forward Seth Griffith is also out for an extended period of time. He's expected to miss three-to-four weeks with an MCL sprain.
