St. Louis Blues forward Jaden Schwartz exited practice Friday morning after he slipped and crashed into the goal post during a drill.
He was helped off the ice by the training staff, unable to put weight on his left leg, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
The 23-year-old was taken to the hospital, the club announced Friday afternoon. A diagnosis isn't expected until Saturday.
Schwartz is without a goal in seven starts this season, but has chipped in with four helpers.
Ty Rattie has since been called up from the AHL.
St. Louis will host the New York Islanders on Saturday.
