Flyers' Medvedev sent home from road trip with upper-body injury

Philadelphia Flyers general manager Ron Hextall announced Tuesday that defenseman Evgeny Medvedev was sent home from the team's current road trip with an upper-body injury.
Hextall added that Medvedev would be examined further by team doctors Wednesday in Philadelphia.
Medvedev was considered a healthy scratch for Monday's game against the Vancouver Canucks, so it's unclear if the Flyers were not telling the truth about his condition on Monday, or if something changed since then.
The 33-year-old has one assist in ten games after signing as a free agent from the KHL in the offseason.
Philadelphia does not return home until next Tuesday, when they host the Winnipeg Jets.
