Blue Jackets go full period without recording a shot in win over Kings
The 2015-16 Columbus Blue Jackets are certainly making things interesting.
During Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Kings, the Blue Jackets were held without a single shot on goal over the course of the entire second period, marking the first time in franchise history they've recorded this dubious stat.
For the Kings, it was the second time they've been on the other end of the feat.
The Kings allowed 0 shots during the 2nd period, tying the club record for fewest shots allowed in a period (2nd time; April 5, 1978 at STL)

Through the first 40 minutes of the game, the Kings held a 23-8 shot advantage, but Columbus still led 2-1.
While the Kings appeared poised to build off the defensive effort and make a third period push on home ice in search of the win, it was the Blue Jackets who came out firing in the final frame, with 17 shots and an insurance goal by Gregory Campbell to preserve the win.
Because hockey's like that sometimes.
Jeff Carter drew the Kings within one late in the game, but the Blue Jackets held on for their fourth victory of the season, all of which have come since John Tortorella took over as head coach on Oct. 21.
