Coyotes send All-Star captain Scott to AHL, will be back shortly
Arizona Coyotes forward - and All-Star captain - John Scott was sent to the AHL on Wednesday, hours after the club claimed defenseman Kevin Connauton off waivers from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Scott won't be gone for long, though:
#Coyotes have sent John Scott to AHL to make room for Connauton, but Scott will be recalled in "next day or so," Tippett said.

Scott previously cleared waivers, according to McLellan, which gives the Coyotes roster flexibility.
Asked about Scott's participation in All-Star Game amid this roster move, Tippett said, "That has nothing to do with that."

Scott should be back with the big club by Friday, ensuring he'll indeed represent the Coyotes at the 3-on-3 All-Star tournament in Nashville later this month.
Tippett said #Coyotes looking at "couple different situations" on roster to accommodate a Scott recall.

Scott's played 11 games this season, averaging 6:18 in ice time. He has one assist, six shots on goal, and 25 penalty minutes. He has the Internet to thank for his All-Star nod, obviously the first - and likely only - of his career.
