Tiger Woods wrote encouraging letter to bullied teen
Golf Digest published a story last week about LPGA Tour player Sophie Gustafson and a high-schooler she's been mentoring, who, like Gustafson, suffers from a stutter.
The boy, Dillon, has endured bullying from his schoolmates, which led to his attempted suicide.
Gustafson made it her goal to bring Dillon's story to a wider audience.
"I keep re-reading his mum's email to me and trying to figure out the best way to go about helping the kid," Gustafson told Golf Digest. "The mum asked me if there is anyone I knew that could help share his story. You are a journalist and a writer but I'm not sure how much of a story it is. A kid that's different and that gets teased is happening every day, everywhere."
Gustafson's mission has succeeded, as the story attracted the attention of Tiger Woods, who himself overcame a stutter as a child.
Tiger sent Dillon a letter, which obviously had a positive impact on the boy.
Thanks so much @TigerWoods for sending my friend Dillon a letter. He got so happy! It's being framed and hanged. #class

The letter itself was released Tuesday, and good on Tiger for this.
