Report: Javier Zanetti held at gunpoint in Buenos Aires, forced to surrender car
Saturday saw some scary news come out of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
According to Todo Noticias, Inter Milan legend and new vice-president Javier Zanetti was held at gunpoint in the Banfield area of Argentina's capital and forced to surrender his car. Zanetti's father was also with him during the ordeal.
Police were immediately contacted after the armed assault, and although Zanetti's vehicle was recovered, the perpetrators are reportedly still at large.
Only two years ago, Zanetti's wife experienced a similar assault in Lanus, Argentina. Taken from her on that occasion was a Mercedes Benz along with her personal belongings.
Zanetti retired from football at the end of Inter Milan's 2013-14 campaign, hanging up the boots on a 19-year career with the Nerazzurri that saw him make a club record 615 Serie A appearances. Inter Milan subsequently retired the No. 4 shirt in his honor.
