76ers GM uncomfortable keeping all of Okafor, Embiid, Noel on roster

The Philadelphia 76ers are looking to unload a member of their crowded frontcourt.

When asked whether he was comfortable moving forward with Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid, and Jahlil Okafor all on the roster, Sixers president and general manager Bryan Colangelo did not hide his discomfort.

"Absolutely not," Colangelo said on SiriusXM NBA radio, as quoted by Dan Feldman of Pro Basketball Talk. "But I think what we are comfortable doing is saying we're not going to make a deal just to make a deal. So when I say in a playful way, 'No, I'm not comfortable,' I think we could be a better basketball team if we could distribute that talent better and maybe take one of those assets and address other needs on the roster."

While it appears almost certain that Philadelphia will move forward without the trio intact, Colangelo refused to specify which big is most likely to be dealt.

"Right now, again, it’s best to say we like all of them," Colangelo added. "We want to see if we can make the most out of each of them in terms of their contributions to this team. But at the end of the day, the reality says probably one has to go at some point — but only when the deal is right."

Given that Embiid's true value is currently unknown, Colangelo will more than likely need to decide between Noel and Okafor. Reports surfaced last month that the Sixers would prefer to move the latter, but both bigs have been no stranger to trade talk of late.
