Report: FIFA investigating Neymar for wearing unsanctioned underpants
According to FIFA, underpants are serious business.
The federation is reportedly investigating Brazil superstar Neymar for wearing non-FIFA sponsored underwear during Monday's victory over Cameroon. The colorful undergarment was visible when he exchanged shirts following the conclusion of the match.
To most, the idea of fining someone for wearing unofficial underwear is beyond absurd, but FIFA set a precedent for policing clothing when it fined Denmark's Nicklas Bendtner over $100,000 for revealing the name of a betting company on the waistband of his underwear after scoring at Euro 2012. That's a serious penalty for wearing forbidden fabric.
Considering FIFA has a biting incident and ongoing protests to deal with in Brazil, maybe Neymar's underwear shouldn't be a high priority.
