Germany could be in trouble as 7 players reportedly fall ill ahead of France clash
Germany is far from the picture of health ahead of their clash against France, as coach Joachim Loew revealed seven players are dealing with flu-like symptoms. He tried to make it sound like it wasn't that bad, stating that most of them just had sore throats.
"It’s not that bad at the moment," he said, via the Daily Mail. "I don’t want to overdramatize it."
According to the news outlet, Mats Hummels (who missed the Algeria game), Cristoph Kramer, and Thomas Muller could be among the ill players. The team is trying to prevent the sickness from spreading through the entire squad ahead of Friday's match, but Loew says all the extra travel and airplane time is probably not helping with their fitness.
"We’re constantly having to travel between different climate zones," Loew said.
"It’s understandable that the guys get a bit under the weather, and that it starts to spread."
