Mike Tyson opens as underdog in Jake Paul bout

Boxing legend Mike Tyson is the underdog for his July 20 fight against Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Paul, the YouTube star turned prizefighter, was listed as a -195 betting favorite, and Tyson, a former heavyweight champion, was a +150 underdog on theScore Bet as of Thursday afternoon.

The highly anticipated tilt between Paul, 27, and Tyson, who turns 58 in June, was sanctioned as a professional boxing match Monday by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which oversees combat sports in the state. theScore Bet released odds for Paul-Tyson on Wednesday.

Tyson is set to compete in his first pro fight since a 2005 loss to Kevin McBride. "Iron" faced fellow boxing icon Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout in 2020.

Paul is 9-1 as a pro boxer and is coming off back-to-back knockout wins over journeymen Ryan Bourland and Andre August. Paul has also beaten several former UFC stars such as Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, and Tyron Woodley. His lone loss came against Tommy Fury in February 2023.
