Wimbledon betting: Can Shelton, Fritz end 22-year Grand Slam drought?

Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton are still alive in Wimbledon, increasing the chances for an American man to win a Grand Slam title for the first time since Andy Roddick in 2003.

Fritz advanced to the semifinals Tuesday morning by defeating Karen Khachanov in four sets, and Shelton faces World No. 1 Jannik Sinner on Wednesday.

Before the tournament started, Fritz was +3300 to win and Shelton was +5000 on ESPN BET and theScore Bet. Those odds have shortened to +1200 (7.7% implied probability) and +1600 (5.9% implied probability), respectively.

The 22-year-old Shelton, who became the youngest American to reach the quarterfinals at Wimbledon since Roddick in 2004, is a +300 underdog versus Sinner. Meanwhile, Fritz awaits the winner between tournament favorite Carlos Alcaraz and Cameron Norrie.

Men's odds

Player Odds
Carlos Alcaraz -125
Novak Djokovic +280
Jannik Sinner +320
Taylor Fritz +1200
Ben Shelton +1600
Flavio Cobolli +6600
Cameron Norrie +10000

🎾 Odds available at ESPN BET and theScore Bet

This isn't uncharted territory for either American in a Grand Slam. Fritz has played in two Wimbledon quarterfinals and reached the final at last year's U.S. Open. Shelton made it to the semifinals at the 2025 Australian Open and 2023 U.S. Open.

It will still be an uphill battle for both Americans, with pre-tournament favorites Alcaraz, Sinner, and 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic remaining in the draw.

Alcaraz has looked unstoppable, and Fritz will likely have to take out the defending champion to reach the finals. However, Sinner looked beatable in his fourth-round match against Grigor Dimitrov, which bodes well for Shelton. Sinner is battling an ailment of his own and trailed two sets to love when Dimitrov was forced to retire. With that said, if Shelton can knock off the World No. 1, chances are he will have seven-time Wimbledon champion Djokovic waiting for him in the semis.
