"I mean, players that's going to help you win championships. ... To me, having $40 million and being chipped every play and hit with two, with three, four people, I don't think that sounds too fun to me. <p>Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan went off during his press conference Wednesday after being asked about some questioning his team's mental and physical toughness this season.</p><p>"That's complete and total bullshit if you want my honest opinion," Callahan said, according to <a href="https://x.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1869509406091792672">Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team</a>. "These guys are tough f--kers, man, they go after it every day. They play hard as hell, and at no point have we ever put on tape at any point this season that this is a soft football team. I can't even wrap my mind around how that would even be a conversation. I mean, just because we don't win games doesn't mean we're soft."</p><p>He added: "You can ask any team that plays against us that when they come off the field, they know they played us. Yeah, that makes me relatively angry that that would be some presumption. That means you just don't watch the shit. You don't know what you're talking about, you don't know what you're looking at."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The Titans are amid a disappointing 2024 season, Callahan's first with the team. The 40-year-old joined Tennessee during the offseason after serving as the Cincinnati Bengals' offensive coordinator for multiple years.</p><p>Tennessee, which went 6-11 in 2023, ranks dead last in the AFC South with a 3-11 record despite making aggressive offseason moves, including signing receiver <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/99606" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/99606">Calvin Ridley</a> and trading for cornerback <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/105534" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/105534">L'Jarius Sneed</a>, among others.</p><p>"I'd like for you to walk in there and call one of these guys soft and see what happens, you know?" There's no possible explanation to say that this team is soft in any way, shape or form, mentally or physically. And the way that they go about their work, it's insulting to me, to them, to everyone that works here. No chance ever in hell would I ever admit that to be the case, and neither would anybody in this locker room. So you can kind of shove that one right up your ass, to be honest."</p><p>The Titans rank 27th in total points and yards this season. Defensively, Tennessee places second in yards allowed but only 29th in scoring. They play each other again in three weeks.</p><p>The Tampa Bay Buccaneers dominated the Chargers to put more pressure on the Atlanta Falcons, who have an easier remaining schedule but have lost four straight. Atlanta plays the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, and a loss would increase Tampa Bay's 81% chance of winning the South.</p><p>The Washington Commanders held on to defeat the New Orleans Saints on Sunday to bolster their case as the No. 7 seed. He completed 19 of 38 pass attempts for 159 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.</p><p>Mahomes hasn't missed a game because of injury since the 2019 season. The 29-year-old also dealt with an ankle issue during the postseason in January 2023 but managed to play through it and led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl LVII victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.</p><p>Kansas City signed Wentz in April to serve as Mahomes' backup. The 31-year-old, who has 93 NFL starts under his belt, attempted his first two passes of the season in his relief appearance versus Cleveland.</p><p>The 13-1 Chiefs are the AFC's No. 1 seed and have already clinched the AFC West title. After Saturday's matchup against Houston, Kansas City has a short turnaround for a Wednesday tilt on Christmas Day versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.</p>

Miami suffered a costly loss in its regular-season finale, but Ward was crucial to the school posting its first 10-win season since 2017.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p><em>Other finalists: Dillon Gabriel (Oregon), Shedeur Sanders (Colorado)</em></p><h3>Chuck Bednarik Award (best defensive player)</h3><p><strong>Winner: Travis Hunter, CB, Colorado</strong></p><p>Hunter enjoyed a season for the ages, shining on both sides of the ball to establish himself as one of the sport's best wide receivers and cornerbacks. The Boise State star had 344 carries for 2,497 rushing yards and 29 TDs in 2024. He's just 132 yards short of passing Barry Sanders' FBS season rushing record. Jeanty had at least 125 yards on the ground in every contest this season, failed to score just once, and posted 200 yards six times. We'll remember his 2024 campaign for a long time.</p><p><em>Other finalists: Omarion Hampton (North Carolina), Kaleb Johnson (Iowa)</em></p><h3>Outland Trophy (best interior lineman)</h3><p><strong>Winner: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas</strong></p><p>Banks showed why he'll likely be a first-round pick in the NFL draft, posting another excellent season with the Longhorns in their first year in the SEC. He claimed a first-team All-SEC nod in 2024 and was the highest-graded pass-blocker in the conference after giving up just one sack all year, according to PFF.</p><p><em>Other finalists: Mason Graham (DT, Michigan), Walter Nolen (DT, Ole Miss)</em></p><h3>Jim Thorpe Award (best defensive back)</h3><p><strong>Winner: Jahdae Barron, Texas</strong></p><p>The Longhorns' move to the SEC wasn't an issue for Barron, who had arguably his best college season in 2024. The versatile defensive back led the SEC with five interceptions while also recording 47 tackles, nine pass breakups, and one sack to help Texas finish the season as the No. 1 team in passing yards allowed.</p><p><em>Other finalists: Caleb Downs (Ohio State), Malaki Starks (Georgia)</em></p><h3>Biletnikoff Award (best receiver)</h3><p><strong>Winner: Travis Hunter, Colorado</strong></p><p>Hunter claimed his second award of the night, and no one should be surprised. The Colorado two-way star - who was also named college football's best defensive player - dazzled at wide receiver in 2024, finishing the campaign in the top 10 in the nation for receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches. His 92 catches and 14 TDs led the Big 12. Hunter was the main target for one of the nation's top QBs and passing offenses.</p><p><em>Other finalists: Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona), Nick Nash (San Jose State)</em></p><h3>Coach of the Year</h3><p><strong>Winner: Curt Cignetti, Indiana</strong></p><p>Not even the biggest Hoosiers fan could've expected a season <em>this </em>good in their first year with Cignetti. The 63-year-old joined Indiana after the 2023 season and made a huge impact, helping the school post a shocking 11-1 record in 2024 just a year after winning only three games. The Hoosiers started the campaign 10-0 and only lost to Ohio State before securing the school's first-ever 11-win season and a spot in the College Football Playoff.</p><h3>Ray Guy Award (best punter)</h3><p><strong>Winner: Eddie Czaplicki, USC</strong></p><p>Czaplicki became USC's first Ray Guy Award winner after finishing the 2024 season ranked second in the country for net yards per punt (45.7). He also placed third in yards per punt with 48.5.</p><p><em>Other finalists: Alex Mastromanno (Florida State), Brett Thorson (Georgia) </em></p><h3>Lou Groza Award (best kicker)</h3><p><strong>Winner: Kenneth Almendares, Louisiana</strong></p><p>Almendares was a beast for the Ragin' Cajuns in 2024, converting 27 field goals and scoring 127 points to lead all FBS kickers in both categories. Overall, he went 27-for-29 on FGs and missed just one of his 47 extra points.</p><p><em>Other finalists: Ryan Fitzgerald (Florida State), Alex Raynor (Kentucky)</em></p><h3>Maxwell Award (best player)</h3><p><strong>Winner: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State</strong></p><p>Jeanty claiming this award over Hunter was one of the night's biggest surprises. It's not hard to understand why the Boise State tailback deserves it, though. As expected, he won the Doak Walker Award on Thursday as the nation's best RB. Jeanty and Hunter will also be in contention for the Heisman Trophy next. I'd like to finish here," Chubb recently said, according to <a href="https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2024/12/browns-running-back-nick-chubb-wants-to-stay-in-cleveland-and-give-his-team-a-reason-to-run-the-ball.html">Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com</a>. "Cleveland just means a lot to me. Everything we've been through, ups and downs, but I'm proud to be drafted here."</p><p>Chubb sustained a devastating knee injury in September 2023 that kept him sidelined for more than a year. The 28-year-old made his return Oct. 20 this season, and he's since appeared in seven games.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Chubb's production in 2024 hasn't been up to his standards, as he's recorded 93 carries for 291 yards and three touchdowns. He's posted only 3.1 yards per rushing attempt after not averaging fewer than 5 yards per carry in any of his first six NFL seasons.</p><p>With Chubb slowly trying to regain his best form and the 3-10 Browns eliminated from playoff contention, it's been speculated that resting Chubb for the remainder of the 2024 season would be the best option for the two sides. However, that doesn't seem to be even an option for the veteran tailback.</p><p>"I have a long way to go before I shut anything down," Chubb added. "Every time I go out there, it's practice reps, game reps, it's me just getting better physically, mentally, all around, so I'm nowhere near shutting it down. Not even a thought."</p><p>Chubb, a second-round pick in 2018, ranks third in Browns history with 6,802 rushing yards and 51 touchdowns on the ground.</p>

The injury is reportedly expected to sideline him for the remainder of the season.</p><p>Carr also missed three games in October, but New Orleans opted to start Rattler at the time. The first-year QB, who was drafted in the fifth round this year, completed 59.6% of his passes with one touchdown against two interceptions while replacing Carr. The Saints went 0-3 in those games.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Rattler and Haener competed for the QB1 role again this week.</p><p>Haener joined the team as a fourth-round pick in 2023 and has attempted 29 passes this season. He'll make his first NFL start against Washington.</p><p>The Saints have a lot on the line Sunday versus the Commanders. New Orleans is still trying to make an unlikely playoff run in the final stretch of the season and is currently the 12-seed in the NFC with a 5-8 record. Washington is the conference's No. 7 seed at 8-5.</p>

He won a record six Super Bowl titles alongside legendary quarterback Tom Brady.</p><p>Belichick has never coached at the college level. His father was an assistant at North Carolina between 1953-55.</p>
