PITTSBURGH (AP) — Joe Burrow will head to Cincinnati’s training facility on Sunday. He’ll lift weights. He might watch some video. And then he’ll join the rest of his teammates and hope.It’s not much. But it’s the only thing left for Burrow and a Bengals team that certainly looks playoff-worthy everywhere but the standings after a 19-17 victory at Pittsburgh late Saturday night kept Cincinnati’s slim postseason hopes flickering into the season’s final day.“It’s not ideal,” Burrow said after throwing for 277 yards and a touchdown. “But we put ourselves in this position.”<div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div>In multiple ways. The Bengals were floundering at 4-8 a month ago, with seven of the losses coming by eight points or less. They responded by ripping off five straight to wrap up the regular season, including a win over the reeling Steelers.For the Bengals to grab the final playoff spot in the AFC, they need Patrick Mahomes-less Kansas City to beat Denver and the New York Jets to summon the energy at the end of a chaotic season to topple Miami.Yeah, it’ll be weird rooting for the Chiefs. It beats having nothing to root for at all, which is certainly where Cincinnati seemed headed a month ago.“I don’t know how many guys will be playing for (Kansas City),” Burrow said with a small laugh. “Hopefully some.”While Burrow threw an interception and had his NFL-record streak of consecutive games with at least 250 yards passing and three touchdowns come to an end, he did enough to send the Steelers (10-7) reeling into the playoffs with a four-game losing streak.Pittsburgh will be the fifth seed and travel to AFC South champion Houston if the Los Angeles Chargers lose at Las Vegas. BALTIMORE (AP) — The road to a division title was bumpy for the Baltimore Ravens, who started 0-2, faced a schedule packed with playoff teams and had to rally from a two-game deficit with four to play.Having overcome all that, Lamar Jackson is looking ahead to the most important challenges of all — in the postseason.“I’m focused on the wild-card game, I’m not going to lie to you,” Jackson said. “I’m cool with what’s going on today. I’m cool, don’t get me wrong, but my mind’s on something else.”<div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div>Jackson threw two touchdown passes, and the Ravens won the AFC North for the second straight season, clinching the division with a 35-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Saturday.Now the Ravens (12-5) will try to reach the Super Bowl for the first time with Jackson. They open the playoffs at home against either the Los Angeles Chargers or Pittsburgh Steelers. Baltimore was two games behind the Steelers in the division before closing with four consecutive victories.Cleveland (3-14) ended a dreadful season with six straight losses. Jackson finished the season with 4,172 yards passing, 41 touchdown passes and four interceptions. He became the first quarterback to reach 4,000 yards passing with 40 TD passes and four or fewer interceptions.Jackson also finished the season with 915 yards rushing, becoming the first player to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for at least 800. His passer rating of 119.6 wasn’t quite high enough to break the single-season record of 122.5 held by Aaron Rodgers.Zappe threw for 170 yards with two interceptions. His 16-yard scoring pass to Jordan Akins made it 21-10 in the fourth, but the Ravens answered with 70-yard drive that ended with a 2-yard touchdown run by Derrick Henry.Henry, who turned 31 on Saturday, added a 43-yard scoring run late in the fourth. KAPALUA, Hawaii (AP) — Collin Morikawa has played Kapalua enough to know that trailing Hideki Matsuyama by seven shots early in the second round was no reason to panic. Sure enough, he nearly caught up to the Japanese star on Friday at The Sentry.
Matsuyama played bogey-free on another gorgeous day on Maui with moderate wind, making seven birdies in a 10-hole stretch in the middle of his round and posting an 8-under 65 for a one-shot lead going into the weekend of the PGA Tour season opener.
Morikawa <a href="https://x.com/PGATOUR/status/1875380798821421207">ran off five straight birdies in the scoring stretch</a> late — only one of them longer than 5 feet — until his streak ended on the par-5 closing hole at the Plantation course with a 12-foot birdie putt that missed on the high side.

He also had a 65 and was expecting more of the same on the weekend. Conditions are prime for scoring, and The Sentry has the best players from the PGA Tour last year.
“When you look at the leaderboard, I'm through six holes and I'm even par and guys are lapping the field already,” Morikawa said. “But like I said, it's not telling myself I've got to be patient. I just know this golf course, and I know at any point you can go on a little stretch of birdies, and I just had to keep playing my game.”
It was the eighth time Morikawa had 65 or better at Kapalua, the most of any player since 2020 when the two-time major champion made his debut.
Matsuyama went about his business, breaking into one big smile when he holed a 35-foot birdie putt across the green on the par-3 11th. He was at 16-under 130 with a pack of players lining up behind him.
“I'm definitely satisfied with where I am,” Matsuyama said.
Ten players were separated by three shots going into the weekend of the tournament that invites only PGA Tour winners from 2024 and the top 50 from the FedEx Cup.
Corey Conners of Canada and Thomas Detry of Belgium were among those at 14-under 132 thanks to big finishes of their own.
Conners holed a 40-foot eagle putt on the par-5 15th, followed with two medium-range birdie putts and two-putted from the front of the green on the 18th for another birdie and a 66. Detry was 6 under on the final six holes. <a href="https://x.com/PGATOUR/status/1875336926913527818">He drove the green on the 306-yard 14th hole</a> to 10 feet for eagle, and had to settle for par on the 18th for a 65.
The field averaged 68.1, which was skewed slightly by Davis Riley posting the first 80 of the season. He made four straight birdies, a tough two-putt par and then took a 9 on the 17th hole with a lost ball to the right on one tee shot and a second tee shot into the left hazard. The margin of those misses was about the length of a football field.
Only four players failed to break par.
For everyone else, it was a case of taking aim at spots on the contoured greens that feed to the hole and cashing in with birdies.
Sepp Straka birdied every hole on the back nine until he hit what he considered his best shot, a 6-iron to 20 feet, only to miss the putt. He shot 65.
Eight players shot 64, a group that included Davis Thompson, who was 14 shots better than his first round of the year. Patrick Cantlay was 10 shots better with his 64.
“Now I need to do it again,” said Cantlay, who still was eight shots behind Matsuyama.
Among the group three shots behind was former U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark, who birdied eight of his last 10 holes. Clark made the argument the low scoring was a product of the players, not the course.
“I don’t necessarily prefer this low, but at the same time, we make courses like this look easy,” Clark said. “To be honest, it’s not that easy. Typically, there’s a lot of wind here, and we didn’t have much wind today, so you’re going to have a lot of birdie looks and sometimes eagle looks.
“I’ve never really shot 20 under on the PGA Tour, so maybe I can break it this week.”
At this rate, that won't be enough.
Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley also had a 64, marked by an eagle on the final hole and his two sons racing onto the fairway as he walked to the 18th green. Bradley has not ruled out playing in the Ryder Cup. But that's a long way off.
“We’re two rounds into 2025,” he said. “So if we get to July and it’s looking like that, then we’ll start to talk, but for now I’m just going to keep playing my best.”

Kerley was wrestled to the ground, where an officer stuck him several times and then used a Taser on the 29-year-old sprinter, police said.According to an arrest report, officers were investigating an unrelated active police scene when Kerley approached the area and attempted to force his way through to his vehicle, which was parked nearby. “What I think is great about it is it will give us an opportunity to evaluate some guys that have done a really good job,” McVay said. “We'll get a chance to see some other offensive linemen play that we're excited about. We'll get a chance to see those receivers work with Jimmy. (Rookie running back) Blake Corum will hopefully get a good workload. Look forward to seeing (third-string running back) Cody Schrader do some different things.”

McVay also said he will give varying degrees of rest to several players on the defensive side, but those players likely will be active for the game to give Los Angeles enough players to fill out a game-day roster.
“We'll give a handful of guys some work,” McVay said. “Because of the youth that we have on the defensive side of the ball, we'll be able to keep some opportunities for guys to play, but maybe not the amount of workload you're accustomed to.”

Nacua will finish 10 yards shy of a second 1,000-yard season to begin his impressive career. The former fifth-round pick had 79 catches for 990 yards and scored four total touchdowns despite missing five games with a knee injury early in the season.
Kupp will finish with 67 catches for 710 yards and six TDs, while Williams will finish with 1,299 yards rushing, 182 yards receiving and 16 total touchdowns.
Stafford passed for 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns in his 16th NFL regular season, both career lows in a season with at least 15 starts. But Stafford's eight interceptions also were his fewest in a full season, while his 28 sacks were his second-fewest.
Joe Noteboom will start in Alaric Jackson's place at left tackle, while Jonah Jackson will fill in for Dotson at right guard.
Jonah Jackson signed a lucrative three-year free agent deal with the Rams last March, but struggled with injuries early in the season before failing to reclaim the starting job at center from rookie Beaux Limmer.
