Then, in early May, he criticized the club and chief baseball officer Craig Breslow for wanting him to man first base after <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///mlb/players/12885" href="https://thescore.com/mlb/players/12885">Triston Casas</a>' season-ending knee injury.</p><p>"I played for the Red Sox a long time," Ortiz added. "You think everything with me and the Red Sox was roses and flowers? I went through some tough times also. But I was mature enough to understand and keep things internal. What changes were made to get more out of the bats?</strong></p><p><strong>Guerrero: </strong>Everybody is doing their part. Everybody can take a walk. If we need a bunt, we can bunt. If we need a steal, we steal. We're playing the right way right now. And to me, when you play the game the right way, something (good) can happen.</p><p><strong>theScore: Bo Bichette being healthy has been big for the club so far. He's a free agent at the end of the season. Are you going to try to convince him to re-sign?</strong></p><p><strong>Guerrero: </strong>It's personal. He can decide. To me, personally, I would like him to stay here, but I can't control that. Why do you play for the Dominican Republic over Canada?</strong></p><p><strong>Guerrero: </strong>That's a good question.<strong> </strong>I was born in Canada, but I grew up in the Dominican Republic. My dad never went to a World Baseball Classic. He told me as a kid that I should represent the Dominican if I ever got a chance to do it. I grew up with that. The 28-year-old owns a 6.47 ERA with a 1.54 WHIP and 43 strikeouts over 48 2/3 innings this season while making nine starts and four relief appearances.</p><p>Harrison has authored a 4.56 ERA with a 1.27 WHIP and 9.5 K/9 across 23 2/3 innings (four starts) in 2025. The 23-year-old was San Francisco's top prospect in 2023-2024. </p><p>He will report to Triple-A Worcester following the trade.</p><p>The Giants selected Tibbs with the No. 13 pick in the 2024 draft. The 22-year-old was the organization's fourth-best prospect, according to <a href="https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/giants/">MLB Pipeline</a>.</p><p>Bello, 20, pitched rookie ball this season in the Arizona Complex League.</p><p>Boston will visit San Francisco for a three-game series next weekend starting June 20.</p>

The 27-year-old slashed .189/.218/.314 with five homers, 19 RBIs, and 43 strikeouts in 48 games but he's arbitration-eligible through 2026.</p><p>The Brewers assigned Vaughn to their Triple-A affiliate once the trade became official.</p><p>Vaughn has been a regular for the White Sox since 2021, appearing in 610 contests. "I just very respectfully said that Aaron would really like an opportunity to continue his career as a starter. However, he defended his desire to remain a starter, whether in Wisconsin or elsewhere.</p><p>"I'm not trying to leave this organization," Civale said, according to <a href="https://apnews.com/article/milwaukee-brewers-aaron-civale-ac27725f857a5acda046c08643426a09">Steve Megargee of The Associated Press</a>. "I'm in a position physically where I feel like I can contribute best as a starting pitcher. Right now, that's not in my plans here. That's not to say that can't change, but the reason that would change is not necessarily a good thing. That means something happened to somebody else."</p><p>"This is not a situation where I'm trying to leave this team," he added. "The other guys are great. The coaching staff's great. The players are great. I really love competing with all of them. It's just I feel like I still have more to contribute and more to this game, and I feel like I'm best suited to do that as a starting pitcher. I've worked very hard to get to this position."</p><p>Manager Pat Murphy said he was "not surprised" by his pitcher's trade request and believes that Civale won't let the situation affect his pitching as long as he remains in a Brewers uniform.</p><p>"We deal with players being unhappy all the time, and that's their right to do. Aaron's got a great history, and he's performed well for this organization, so he's got a right to feel the way he wants to feel," Murphy told reporters, according to <a href="https://x.com/AdamMcCalvy/status/1933270181112910247">Adam McCalvy of MLB.com</a>. "But now it's time for him to go behave. ... I'm confident he will behave well."</p><p>Civale concurred with his manager, noting he'll do "what's asked" of him as a reliever for the time being, per Megargee.</p><p>Civale is earning $8 million in 2025.</p>

(AP) — A three-judge federal appellate panel ruled Thursday in favor of NASCAR in <a href="https://apnews.com/article/nascar-charter-lawsuit-11a7db264f928b9f64730c1c6c0af648">the antitrust lawsuit filed by two teams, one owned by Michael Jordan</a>, and vacated an injunction that required 23XI and Front Row be recognized as chartered teams as their case snakes through the legal system.</p>
<p>Both race teams sued NASCAR late last year after refusing to sign new agreements on charter renewals. The charter system is similar to franchises in other sports, but the charters are revocable by NASCAR and have expiration dates. 23XI, which is owned by Jordan and three-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin, joined Front Row in suing NASCAR after 13 other organizations signed the renewals.</p>
<p>The two teams sued and asked for a temporary injunction that would recognize them as chartered teams for this season. The antitrust case isn’t scheduled to be heard until December.</p>

<p>The teams said they needed the injunction because the current charter agreement prohibits them from suing NASCAR. 23XI also argued it would be harmed because Tyler Reddick’s contract would have made him a free agent if the team could not guarantee him a charter-protected car.</p>
<p>The original judge ruled that NASCAR's charter agreement likely violated antitrust law in granting the injunction. But when <a href="https://apnews.com/article/nascar-charter-lawsuit-5794adeb8a72cb0a0f3fe68b3089ebe9">they heard arguments last month</a>, the three judges at the the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in Richmond, Virginia, indicated they were skeptical of that decision.</p>
<p>The judges said in Thursday's ruling they were not aware of any case that supports the lower court's theory of antitrust law, so they vacated the injunction.</p>
<p>The teams have 14 days to appeal to the full court. The injunction also has no bearings on the merits of the case.</p>

<p>The Colorado Rockies beat the Miami Marlins 3-2 on Tuesday to win their first series of the season after also taking Monday's opener.</p><p>Colorado's last series victory before beating Miami in two straight games was last September against the Arizona Diamondbacks.</p><p>The Rockies (11-50) dropped an MLB-record 22 straight series dating back to 2024 before snapping the streak. The team already set another dubious mark with the worst 60-game start in the modern era (since 1901).</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"That was big-time for the boys, to get that first series win," Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer said postgame, according to <a href="https://www.denverpost.com/2025/06/03/rockies-marlins-score-hunter-goodman/">Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post</a>. "Who would have known it wouldn't come till June? But the time is now.
