As Floyd Mayweather prepares for a possible move to the Octagon, Showtime boxing commentator Jim Gray is cautioning people not to write him off so quickly.

Mayweather said last week he intends to apply for an MMA license and is prepared to spend the next six to eight months training with UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

"If that's what he wants to do, it'll be fun," Gray told TMZ Sports. "I think we got a long way to go before that happens. I don't think that's an overnight project."

When informed of Mayweather's six-to-eight-month training plan, Gray responded, "Don't ever bet against Floyd Mayweather in anything. The man's 50-0."
