Floyd Mayweather Jr. was reportedly involved in a heated altercation at a jewelry store in Miami on Thursday.

The boxing legend was shopping at Diamond Club Miami inside the Seybold Jewelry Building when he got into an argument with the store owner, TMZ Sports reports. Things got so heated that 911 was called, though Mayweather left before police arrived, according to TMZ.

City of Miami Police Department spokesperson Kenia Fallat confirmed to Madeleine Marr of the Miami Herald that there was a dispute involving "a high-profile celebrity," but wouldn't disclose their name. She said the investigation is in its "very preliminary" stages.

"At approximately 5:30 p.m. yesterday, a high-profile celebrity was at the Seybold building and got into a dispute with one of the store's owners," the police department's statement reads. "Prior to police arriving, he already left the scene."

A person who answered the phone at the Diamond Club told the Herald that "the matter was resolved" and "it was a misunderstanding."

Mayweather posted a video on Instagram on Wednesday of himself driving through Bal Harbour in Miami Beach in his Lamborghini.
