Ngannou targets multiple boxing matches, not just Fury
Francis Ngannou apparently has more boxing aspirations than one major payday against Tyson Fury.
"I know for a fact that I'm going to do a few boxing matches," Ngannou told MMA Junkie's Farah Hannoun. "I'm not just about one shot. I'm not just like, one big fight. I want to make my own little statement in a boxing career."
After Fury captured the WBC heavyweight title in a dominant win over Deontay Wilder on Saturday, Ngannou expressed interest in squaring off with "The Gypsy King."
Ngannou also called out Fury last November. In response, Fury tweeted he'd "deal" with the UFC heavyweight contender and other MMA fighters after some more boxing matches.
No. 2-ranked Ngannou is scheduled to meet rising star Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the UFC Columbus main event on March 28. "The Predator" has won three straight fights, which have included finishes of ex-champs Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez.
