Mike Tyson says his tigers might have come from Joe Exotic
Mike Tyson admits there may be a connection between the white Bengal tigers he once owned and Joe Exotic from Netflix's documentary series "Tiger King."
While he didn't purchase his tigers directly from Exotic, Tyson told Oli Gamp of the Daily Mail that the animals may have indirectly come from him.
"It could have been, maybe where I got my cats could have got their cats from Joe. But I don't know," the former undisputed heavyweight champion said. "If you are in the exotic animal world you are aware of him."
Exotic is the former owner and operator of Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison in January after being convicted on two counts of murder-for-hire and 17 wildlife charges.
Tyson, for his part, has expressed regret over owning tigers, calling it "foolish" during an Instagram Live chat with rapper Fat Joe last month.
"I'm just happy I educated myself. It was late, but I educated myself that I was doing the wrong shit," Tyson said. "I shouldn't have had them in my house. I shouldn't have them domesticated - at least believed that they were domesticated. I was wrong."
