Tyson offered $20M to compete in bare-knuckle boxing

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has offered boxing legend Mike Tyson $20 million to compete in the BKFC ring, company president David Feldman told Heavy.com's Brian Mazique.

"While we did make a guaranteed offer of $20 million for Mike to fight for BKFC, we're open to many different options as to how we can work together," Feldman said.

Tyson, 53, has been in the news after a video surfaced of him hitting the mitts with longtime MMA coach Rafael Cordeiro. The clip stunned many fans and left them wondering if Tyson could return to the ring, as he looked incredibly explosive and powerful despite his age.

The former heavyweight champion said in April that he's interested in participating in a few exhibition matches.

"I've been working out, I've been trying to get in the ring," Tyson said. "I think I'm going to box some exhibitions and get in shape. I want to go to the gym and get in shape to be able to box three- or four-round exhibitions for some charities and stuff."

Feldman said Tyson would have the option of choosing his opponent from the list of fighters currently under contract with BKFC.

The promotion has been in business since 2018 and became the first to hold a sanctioned bare-knuckle boxing event in the U.S. since 1889. Several former UFC fighters have competed in BKFC, including Artem Lobov and Hector Lombard. Additionally, former boxing champion Shannon Briggs recently signed with the company.
