Snoop Dogg launching pro boxing league called 'The Fight Club'
Snoop Dogg is starting his own professional boxing league.
The rapper has partnered with Ryan Kavanaugh, co-founder of the social video platform Triller, to launch "The Fight Club," according to TMZ Sports.
Kavanaugh said Saturday's Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr. exhibition bout, which was livestreamed by Triller and included commentary by Snoop, was the first event for "The Fight Club."
"It's a league owned by Proxima, which is the parent company to Triller and Snoop, and this was the first of many, many events," Kavanaugh explained. "Snoop will be the announcer - kind of the official celebrity announcer - and the face of it and spokesperson. But he's also (a) partner, so he'll be helping with setting up the fights and setting up the music acts and the whole shebang."
Kavanaugh said the league's next event will be a sanctioned fight and they're looking to include social media stars, celebrities, musicians, athletes, and professional boxers on the card. He wouldn't reveal the main event, but noted that it's "something that everybody wants to see."
