A noted DJ, songwriter, and record producer is ready to shake up the boxing world.

Diplo - real name Thomas Wesley Pentz - will make his professional boxing debut against a to-be-determined opponent at a Triller Fight Club event on June 5 in Miami, according to Rolling Stone's Mike Bohn.

"He came to us and said he really wants to fight," said Triller owner Ryan Kavanaugh. "We have a good relationship with him, and we said, 'Why don't you come to this (Jake Paul-Ben Askren) event and play a little and then call out an opponent for the next event?' Hopefully, that opponent answers back. It was pretty much that simple."

Diplo, 42, will reportedly compete in a four-round bout for Triller, a video-making and social-networking service that hosted an event featuring Mike Tyson versus Roy Jones Jr. in November and is holding Paul-Askren on Saturday in Atlanta.

"Diplo has been training in boxing," said Triller chief boxing officer Peter Kahn.

"I won't do anything that's not competitive, but competitive is a relative term," Kahn said of a potential opponent. "I'm not looking for someone that's going to come in and overpower him, but I'm also not looking for someone that's going to come in and underwhelm. I have to assess his skill set."

Diplo is a multi-time Grammy winner, taking home awards for best dance recording in 2016 and 2019 and best dance/electronic album in 2016. He's the co-creator and lead member of the electronic music trio Major Lazer and also works with DJ Skrillex.

The Los Angeles resident has been involved in production and mixtape projects with the likes of Justin Bieber, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, Madonna, Beyonce, and Usher.

Diplo will perform at Saturday's Triller event, which also features musical performances by Bieber, the Black Keys, Snoop Dogg, and Ice Cube, among others.
