Jake Paul set for hometown bout vs. Tyron Woodley
Jake Paul's boxing match against Tyron Woodley will take place in his hometown.
The YouTuber will square off with the former UFC welterweight champion at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Showtime announced Monday.
The bout is set for Aug. 29 on Showtime pay-per-view and will be contested at 190 pounds. A prefight press conference is scheduled for Tuesday in Los Angeles.
Paul's company, Most Valuable Promotions, will also assist in promoting the fight.
Paul holds a 3-0 professional boxing record and has won all of his fights by knockout. Most recently, the 24-year-old stopped former UFC fighter Ben Askren in the first round in April.
Woodley, who parted ways with the UFC earlier in 2021, will be making his pro boxing debut. The 39-year-old is riding a four-fight skid in MMA and hasn't won since 2018.
