Rahman Sr. willing to fight Jake, Logan Paul back-to-back
Hasim Rahman Sr. issued a proposal to the Paul brothers after the boxing match between his son, Hasim Rahman Jr., and Jake Paul was called off.
In an interview with TMZ Sports, Rahman Sr. said he'd be willing to face both Jake and Logan Paul on the same night.
"How about this, right? I don't know what commission would sanction this, but if somebody would sanction this, I will fight Jake and Logan back-to-back," the 49-year-old, two-time world heavyweight champion said. "We can go eight rounds apiece. Neither one of them will make eight rounds, but we can sanction for eight rounds apiece, and I promise you, if I don't knock Jake and Logan out, they win."
Rahman Jr. was set to face Jake on Aug. 6 at Madison Square Garden, but Paul's Most Valuable Promotions announced Saturday that the fight was canceled due to issues with Rahman Jr.'s weight.
Rahman Sr. told TMZ that his son agreed to the match with the expectation that he would make weight.
"People don't go into signing the contract knowing they have no intention of making the weight. That's just simply not true," Rahman Sr. said. "And for anybody who says that, in my opinion, they stupid."
During his professional boxing career, Rahman Sr. amassed a 50-9-2 record with 41 knockouts. He retired in 2014.
