Jake Paul: Mayweather unlikely to 'risk' undefeated record in bout vs. me
Jake Paul would love to end Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s perfect 50-0 record but doesn't think he'll get the opportunity.
"I think he would (fight me) if it was an exhibition, for sure," Paul told MMA Fighting's Damon Martin. "The thing is: I want it to be a real pro bout and take his undefeated record, which I don't think he'll risk.
"But I just think that makes the fight three times as big, three times as hyped. That's what I’m aiming for."
Mayweather hasn't fought professionally since defeating UFC star Conor McGregor in a boxing match in August 2017. He said this September he learned to "work smarter, not harder" and enjoys the money and travel opportunities that come with exhibition bouts.
"I have always traveled a lot, but I am able to entertain people all over the world," Mayweather told The Daily Mail's Charlotte Daly. "I wasn't able to do a real fight in Japan, but they love when I do exhibitions. They love for me to come over and perform. It gives them a little bit of a chance to see the old Mayweather. It's a great feeling.
"I make great money from these exhibitions."
Paul, who owns a 5-0 record as a professional boxer, is set to face MMA legend Anderson Silva in his next match later in October.
